Welcome Back to You
I sit,
letting the stresses of the past weeks
seep slowly into my mat
colouring it shades of disbelief
that I,
Knowing what I know
and believing what I believe,
still allowed the human in me
to take control of the better part of me,
Creating problems
birthed in a mind so fertile
That dead seeds can sprout,
And grow into giant trees
Of painfilled leaves,
Massive trunks that used to ground me
now termite ridden
from the constant churning of what if
What if what,
Many lost nights of hopelessly
waiting for what never comes —
tomorrow with its sorrow
and baskets of fear
I know better,
As the tension releases
and my mind eases,
a faithful body snaps, crackles
and sighs,
Finally you are back,
Ilis
