Please Accept My Sincere Apology

…..for the umpteenth time

I’m suffering a severe case of foot-in-mouth disease
that seem to be attacking that part of the brain
causing me to make mistakes over and over again.
Never learning when
to just be quiet
and let it go —
let whatever negative emotions I’m feeling, to flow
through me, but not to you.
But no.
I have to bring you here with me
since misery loves company —
my intentions, so impure
churning up confusion and pain
once more.
And have you living with deep regret
which makes you more upset
with me
and decisions that you made
when you thought your path was paved
with better moments than the past,
toxic relationships that didn’t last.
You shake your head in agony,
joining me in misery
I seek your sympathy
with my very sincere apology.
