SUNFLOWERS AND SAGE ON SUNDAYS
Coffee, Tea, and Talk
The beginning of something
I do not know what this is about; I was there minding my own business when I received the thought, ‘Sunday Morning Conversations.’
I grimaced. Not another Sunday talk — even if it is not a real talk, but words talking across the screen, there is too much competition for this space and time. Why add me to the mix? It is not like I will be sharing some brilliant idea that may change the world.
I continued to debate the pros and cons with those who enjoy coming to me with these ideas, until we finally agreed on a Sunday morning piece about coffee, tea and talking. At first they said, Coffee, Tea, or Me. I was no amused — no creativity.
So I figure, over the next few Sundays, some kinda talking will be happening.
I saw a friend yesterday. He is retired and enjoying his newfound freedom. He does a little bit of livestock farming and was building quite a herd.
“So, how are you? How is the farm? How is life?” I asked my friend, having not seen him in a while.
“Gyul*, the farm burn down last week, bush fire. But what to do? All I do when I get up at mornings is to find something to feel good about. That’s all.”
My eyes lit up; he was talking my talk.
Coffee, tea, let’s talk.
