Passion burns behind closed lids

Behind his quiet smile
and sensitive eyes
lies a passionate tiger
in full disguise.

Pretending to not notice
the every move I make
I caught his stare —
Once.
Feverishly looking
Imagining
the me and he
melding.

And although he did admit
to being a writer
of erotica
I still did not believe
even after reading a few leaves.

That he was so much fire
smouldering hot
like molten lava.
Hissing
and fizzing
chomping at the bit

To let it

Out

Side.

Poetry for reflection

When we dive to the depths, we can unearth treasures or troubles — we get to choose

Deep and still
Sharp mirror
Glassed water
Soul fire
Unquenchable
Though so much water.

Reflective
Meditative
Ruminative
At the edge of still shores.

Fathoms below
Sunken troubles
Encased in concrete slabs
Assured of never surfacing.
Buried
for eternity
between the slime and the mud
Food for the fishes.

Three wishes
offered from the depths
of a secret treasure trove
seeing all
knowing all
having buried all.

happy, love, happy
granted —
Echoed by the tiny ripple
caused by the tossed pebble.

Standing on the shore
Lacquered surface
Metal plated cover
Spent wishes
Near misses
Reminisces
Of happy, love, happy.

No swirls, no ripple
All light reflecting
Darkness lies below the mirage
Of still water
Deep water
Deadly water.

Your Happiness Quotient (HQ) increases the happier you become — Story 4

It can be annoying to those of us who find pleasure in despondency when having to deal with the others of us who are hooked on happiness. Getting this link-up did not come easy for many. We were not born ‘happy babies’, at least I wasn’t. I have never heard my mother say ‘oh she was a happy child.’ Never. I had to learn to be happy like many other things in life that we have to learn to do. What are some of the key tips and tricks to being a happy person?

Love Poetry

I know you will come someday, as surely as the sun will rise tomorrow

I am exhausted
Anxiously marking time.

Expecting that gentle tap on my shoulder
To let me know that you are finally here
and the waiting is over.

We had a pact —
the Universe and I
I was here to grow and
give love, not simply to die.

To mix and match
create some contrast
Know what I want and
what would not last.

Vibrating and attracting
that ideal other
But only when I become
my own perfect brother.
Or as close to perfection
as human me could
Knowing that my true mate
is loving self as I should.

Since…

Give thanks yes
Body’s quite well
Eyes can see
Tongue can tell

Forget parts
Not quite right
Focus now
Health in sight

Heart a beating
All alone
No help asked
Is well-toned

Brain just thinks
Night and day
Ever busy
Has all say

Internal parts
All a-glow
Thankful me
Good to know

Tin cans in the air
The Wrights had it right
But no, not for me
Can’t manage the fright.

I better preferred
To be feet on the ground
My thoughts soaring free
But with soil all around.

He knew of my fear
Of going up there
So on his last trip to space
Sent me a small taste.

So never you say,
I shared not this gift
Flying high in the sky
And being sun-kissed.

It’s amazing the sunset
You see from up here
The show is much better
Because you are near.

A lot can be seen
So high above…

Writing tips and tricks

Life is complex enough as it is

It is really okay to use small words and simple sentences when you write. Think about your reading experiences, which were the stories you most enjoyed? Those that were simply written, had a clear message and were easy to understand, right? So why now that you have a few letters behind your name, do you feel that every three words should have a least seven syllables?

The whole aim is to communicate and unless you are writing a highly technical piece for a niche audience, then it is best to write a level that most persons would easily understand.

Silently
Languidly
It made its way down the rough bark
Of the tall palm tree
Reminiscent of the trailing tongue
Of a lover,
Sensuously.

It paused a time or two
As it worked its way down
As a lover would pleasurably
Caress from toe to crown.

The path, it made glowed wetly
The palm sighed consciously
As a lover would seductively
Murmur sweet
Nothings ardently.

I have come to trust in it
Saving me from all the senseless trying
That usually amounts to sh#t

When we look at our lives
Dispassionately
We realize that our greatest moments
Were the ones when we decide to let go
And let Universal Forces flow
Controlling our happenings
Guiding our actions
Our Alexas
And Siris
Navigational systems from the One Conscious.

Divine Spark
Guiding our own spark
To sparkling new
Spit shine
And beaming
From the results of our inaction –
Or better said
Inspired action.

Release ourselves from these 3-D clocks
That cause nothing…

I passed just in time to see a driver getting a ticket from a police officer for apparently having committed some traffic violations that deemed it necessary and Mr. Driver was not happy about it. It was not even 7 am and the officer was on her beat, with a ticket book and pen ready to catch persons who dare contravene the law. I myself, just a few weeks ago had gotten ticketed for not having my driver’s license on me while driving so in my head I was commiserating with the gentleman. …
